What Happned To Good Old Comedy?

I don’t know if i’m getting old or TV is just going flat. There hasn’t been a good comedy in decades…the last good thing to be shown that will probably be a classic is Little Britain…but even that has been done before, and was done better by The Monty Python crew.

The best era for comedy in my opinion was the 1960’s/1970’s, we had Steptoe & Son, 1948 Show, Tommy Cooper, Fawlty Towers, Monty Python etc….

I live in the UK and i dont know any decent uk comedies on tv now at all…if there even is any! All that is being shoved down our throats now are reality shows and quiz programmes that dont even have ‘normal’ contestants on, they have celebs on who apparantly give their winnings to charity…yawn…because they really do, dont they…

I hope nobody dare say to me ‘but we have FRIENDS’ because no way is that a comedy! And it’s that bleak American humour that i dont even understand! British comedy struggles to attract uk audiences these days anyway…you know why? Because 90% of us (not me) are uneducated and probably dont even know what Fawlty Towers is, which is just criminal! Go back to school!

Fond Computer Game Memories…

Being a hardcore gamer, i have been playing computer games since i was about 5 years of age. I own a wii, a 360, a PSP, a DS, a SNES, NES and a PS1. Out of all of the consoles i have played over the years, the SNES wins everytime for me as being the best, it will certainly take some beating! I loved the cute graphics, the old chunky grey box, the fat cartridges and the smartie buttons on the remotes (they looked so edible!!)

   A while ago now, i found the NES out and i set it all up to see if it still worked…baring in mind the NES is from the mid-80’s and it did!!! I enjoyed a good hour playing classics such as Simon’s Quest and Ghost and Goblins…was fun…even if very outdated. Afterwards, i found the Sega Megadrive out…this was released in the early 1990’s…guess what…it didnt work!!!!! 😛 Proof that Nintendo’s machinery is indestructable!!!

Does anybody remember the horrible noise the Spectrum made whilst loading??? AAARGH!!!! hehehe when i think of the Spectrum i always think of Skool Daze, the best game for it 🙂

Games used to be so laid back and fun…anybody any age could play them without feeling scared because a realistic headless zombie was chasing you etc…what i’ trying to say is…back then, games were cute and fun! They were proper entertainment for the whole family, which is why the Wii has basically dominated the world because family entertainment is just what it gives. 

But in terms of great games and fond memories….give me the SNES/NES anyday.

David Bentley to The Lane :)

I am a Tottenham Hotspur supporter, and after a horrid week of getting rid of our best player Robbie Keane to the scousers, we have made up for it by signing the ‘new David Beckham’ and he even has the looks to go with it 😉

I think i have a new favourite player 😀

Now all we need is that Russian guy to join us…don’t ask me his name, i forget!

Anyone know what number Bentley is going to be??? I’m thinking of getting his name on back of ladies shirt

A New Start

A lot has happned over the past month that has made me have a long hard think about life…mainly about my career. I was studying at Cleveland College in Middlebrough doing a BA fashion degree and i passed everything after completing my first year. I came home for the Summer and after a few changes in my life, i decided fashion wasn’t for me and i am now studying a foundation degree in Nottingham for LAW. After that, i hope to move up to the BA degree in LAW, then after that, study the BVC course to become hopefully a successful barrister. I’m thinking about maybe moving to America in years to come as there is more work over there for barristers and probably more money 🙂 but thats a long way off yet, a lot of hard studying has yet to come…

So, i’m living back home with my mum…its easier because i don’t have to pay rent and i will have a lot more money to help support me through university. This past year has been a very enjoyable experience and hope there is more to come.

As some of you are aware, my last blog page was CoupeClothing, but i’m sorry to tell you all that it got scrapped because the fashion career never really took off…and if i’m honest was a tad boring!!!
