This is a video from John Cleese, which to me hits the nail right on the head when it comes to American’s stealing everything from us, just to then totally change its meaning all together. Just why do American’s call our football soccer??? Are they too lazy to say football??? But then again, they don’t even play football with their feet do they so why not call it handball???

I think this is a touchy subject for the Americans having just looked at the comments left under this video on YouTube…i think i saw a comment that said ‘why does the name matter so much? Fuck you Europeans!’ Touchy touchy

If anyone can explain the rules of American ‘Football’ to me then i will die slightly more ‘intelligent’ than i already am…

When i was young i used to watch The Crystal Maze every week and even now i watch the re-runs on Challenge TV because …well, in one word, its ‘awesome’ and Richard O’Brien is the nicest baldy to exist! Just please watch this video – i don’t know wether to laugh or cry for her as her body bounces off the bridge at the end ! Has me in stitches everytime! LOL

I don’t know if i’m getting old or TV is just going flat. There hasn’t been a good comedy in decades…the last good thing to be shown that will probably be a classic is Little Britain…but even that has been done before, and was done better by The Monty Python crew.

The best era for comedy in my opinion was the 1960’s/1970’s, we had Steptoe & Son, 1948 Show, Tommy Cooper, Fawlty Towers, Monty Python etc….

I live in the UK and i dont know any decent uk comedies on tv now at all…if there even is any! All that is being shoved down our throats now are reality shows and quiz programmes that dont even have ‘normal’ contestants on, they have celebs on who apparantly give their winnings to charity…yawn…because they really do, dont they…

I hope nobody dare say to me ‘but we have FRIENDS’ because no way is that a comedy! And it’s that bleak American humour that i dont even understand! British comedy struggles to attract uk audiences these days anyway…you know why? Because 90% of us (not me) are uneducated and probably dont even know what Fawlty Towers is, which is just criminal! Go back to school!
